In 1964 Nicholas Lanera had a dream of having his own business. After serving in the Army and working various jobs, he set out on his own and opened White Plains Drapery and Upholstery Inc.
Six days a week, and 12-18 hours a day, he started building an impeccable reputation for outstanding work, unbeatable service, but most of all, business integrity.
Since that 200 square foot shop, back on Spring Street in downtown White Plains, his business has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers/distributors on the east coast, with 10,000 square foot of showroom, office space and work room. Commercial Draperies and Lanera Decorating have always set themselves apart from the industry due to a business model designed to ALWAYS put the client's needs first.
Nicholas and Rosemaire Lanera have been building relationships from 1964 till present day. Just recently, handing the reins to their two children, James Lanera and Sally Ann Malvarosa. They too insist on the same customer care as was instilled in them by their parents.
